How to delete an old Apple ID

I created a new one using my wife's email address,but my old one keeps coming up.
How can I delete it?

If you are in the App Store, can you scroll down and log out and try to log in with the new Id?

YES The new email address is there. I signed out and signed back in and tried to update an App.and a message popped up.
Apple ID has been disabled.

Hi 420.
Not sure if this is what you want.
Open Settings go to Store.
Select the Apple ID.
Select Sign Out.
Select Sign In.
Create a new Apple ID.
Follow prompts

Sorry i just noticed Skimonkey said much the same.
