How do I delete photos (actually PDF files off my PC) that some how got on to my ipad3. They are in 'photos' not in 'Albums' or Camera Roll or all imports or last import. Can delete out of those files but not 'Photos'

Point iTunes to an empty folder on your PC and SYNC. That should get rid of the PDFs. Not absolutely sure how PDFs ended up in your photographs, but I'm sure stranger things have happened.
