If the earlier suggestions in this thread did not work, then it is probably a hardware problem. No matter what product you use, there are always some hardware failures; even if you never drop it.
If the iPad is less than a year old, or you have AppleCare, then you should still be under the hardware warrantee.

Apple should repair or replace the iPad for free. If not you'll have to pay to have it fixed; either through Apple or a third party repair facility. Be sure to research any third party repair to make sure they are accredited and reliable.
Edit: I don't see your country/location, so you should double check the warrantee info. Some countries have mandatory two year hardware warrantees.
