How to Save to iPad Only

Greetings.

My senior mother who has an iPad Pro with 256 gb storage space, is getting Low Storage error message. It appears everything is being saved automatically to iCloud, and she wants to save on iPad Only and nothing on iCloud.

I am not an iPad user, thus not familiar with how to direct her.

Step by step instructions would be of great benefit.

Do you know what it is that is getting saved to iCloud? Is it images? Documents?

Sorry for delay in responding... Everything is being saved to iCloud... But I think its photos & screenshots that are eating up her iCloud... if you can even help with How to Save Photos to iPad only, disable iCloud, i think that would make a diffference. Thanks
