Take any rumors or statements on a jailbreak for 7.1(.1) as a grain of salt. With WWDC just around the corner, more than likely hackers will wait for a beta of iOS 8 to see if the exploits they've found (if they've found any) still exists. If iOS 8 for some reason patches the iBoot exploit by @ih8Sn0w, expect to see a string of utilities come out that works on any iOS prior to iOS 8 in terms of possible downgrading/selective restoration and possibly a jailbreak to go along with it. Until facts are solidified or progress is shown on pen-and-paper, you shouldn't have your hopes up.
