How to use dropbox?

In your home directory, on a desktop, you can drag the file into the Dropbox folder, or a sub-folder of your choice. Make one, called Spreadsheet for instance. However, if you have no desktop/laptop, the Dropbox App needs used or an integration, so you can select a file to copy into it.

The option in Numbers for instance, gives any imported file in there a chance to be saved out via WebDav, so you would follow th e protocol in part by putting in your DropBox URL, login and password. Then you should be able to save it in there.

Does that work, you did not really point out details on what is going on in your situation.

If you and anyone here has more details on using WebDav with DropBox, please point out a video or FAQ.

You can not use WebDAV directly with DropBox. There is a service called DropDAV that will add a WebDAV interface, but it has a monthly fee. It's probably worth it if you have a pro DropBox account and use it a lot.

Another alternative is SMEStorage. This is a cloud service aggregator (get all you cloud sites in one place). The free account allows you to add two cloud services and will give you WebDAV access to them. It's not as smooth as using a cloud service directly, but is doable. It's main problem is that when you bypass the SMEStorage site to add content it does not always update. However updates can be forced either on the website or using the iSMEStorage app.

Box.com, another cloud service with a free basic account, has WebDAV, but does not offer a free computer sync client. That makes it less convenient to use between your computer and iPad (you end up using a browser instead of a synced folder), but more convenient to use between iWorks apps on various iOS devices.
