i accidentally locked the touch part of the screen on my wife's ipad 2

how do i unlock the touch part of the screen as it is now greyed out and not accessible i am a new user and she is scary

Don't panic!! Time for a reboot. Hold the Power and Home buttons down for 6-9 seconds until the white Apple logo appears - have faith, it will appear. The iPad will reboot and all will be back to normal. Nothing is lost - no apps, no data. It's nothing to worry about.

try to hold the home button (the circle at the front lower center of the unit) and the power button (at the top right of the unit) until the option to turn it off appears. slide that arrow to the right.

then you can turn it on again using the power button.

see if it works.
