I got my first apple product the ipad 2 yeterday. Need a lot of help.

I am brand new to the world of Apple. I got my ipad 2 yesterday and I am trying to set it up. I want to transfer photos from my pc through itunes. I want them to transfer in albums. What I would like is a main album with sub-albums. Is this possible. I was told that you could set up a photo file (the main one) then add sub files and the subfiles wold transfer as sub albums. But what happens is all the photos are transfered but into one album.

Any thoughts?
