well sod me!, you did it dhewson. I thought that because I had the volume on, that was it, but clearly that button which on close inspection, was showing a light. I now await a message with bated breadth. Thanks so much. The thing is, as you can see, I am in uk, my daughter is in the middle east so when she wishes to alert me with a message, I have been missing them.
