I-tunes won't upload quick time

Hi All.

Tried to load I-Tunes on my second PC (XP) and getting the following error....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"Quicktime failed to initiate (Error -2096)"

"Quicktime is required to run I-Tunes. Un-Install I-Tunes then re-install"
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Tried several times with the same result. Deleted all the I-Tunes components between tries......any help much appreciated......Ken
