ICloud Drive

We are advised not to upgrade to iCloud Drive when installing IOS 8.

Can anyone tell me, if I leave my iPad2 on the old iCloud when I update to the to IOS8.1 whether I will be able to back to iCloud as before?

iCloud will work as before.

If all your Apple devices are up to date (iOS 8x, OS X Yosemite), there's no reason not to upgrade to iCloud Drive.

The only reason I thought it might not be good idea to download iCloud Drive was because I had been contemplating buying an iPhone, but not the latest one. Maybe it would be best to just go ahead with Drive and worry about that later! Thank you anyway.

If you think of purchasing an iPhone 5s or 5c from the Apple Store: they both come with iOS 8 installed.

Hi J.A. Thanks for the extra tip. Had been thinking of getting iPhone 4s, but it may be better to get something rather more up-to-date!
