I wanted to test iCloud restore function. Could I really get my ipad2 back in total from an iCloud restore...and never rely on iTunes again?
To test it out, I backed up to iCloud then did a complete reset, erasing all data from the iPad2. Then I started the iCloud restore process...took about 3mins until I had a workable iPad. The purchased apps took a little longer...about 5mins since I only have 2 1/2 screenfulls. My pictures came back, all my contacts, all my apps (in the right position, too!), notes, calendar, everything!
I am a HAPPY CAMPER. I don't have to rely on iTunes for restore. IOS5 wasn't my favorite upgrade since they switched to TABS in Safari. But the iCloud experience more than makes up for it.
