Yep, just once for me as a teen - father rented one and I had a crack at it! Felt like the cartoon left above - cannot remember the specific type but it came up to my shoulders. DaveI’ve used electric and compressed air jackhammers.
Japanese Maple in Our Front Island - first pic below from 2 years ago (neighbor's house) - next 2 pics from today (sun's angle caused some haze; second pic from a different angle). Again, this was a 'baby' from out big maple in the back transplanted to the front when only about 3-4 ft high; now I cannot get my hand around the trunk - taller and filling out nicely. Dave

Well, its parent (probably close to 50 years old) in the back shown below is likely 40+ ft tall (and needs to be trimmed) - not sure exactly the 'variety', i.e. its leaves are not as bright red in the fall as expected but may be an age-related trait? So, the 'baby' in the front yard will certainly get a lot bigger but may take another 10 years or so, my guess? DaveHow big will it get?
