Imap push mail doesn't work

Hey there

I set up gmail with the apple mail app on my ipad and set push to on. If I open the program and manually check for mail it works fine but if I'm doing other things on my ipad it doesn't automatically get new email. Is there any way to fix this. I want the push mail on it to give me emails instantly just like on my iMac.

delete the accound and set it up as an exchange email account, this will also allow you to sync the calendar and contacts with gmail.



Has nothing to do with app development by the way.
