Importing Contacts from Outlook by Category

I imported my Outlook contacts into the iPad 2 Contacts app. They are all together alphabetically. Whereas this is not a disaster, is there a way to import them and preserve the grouping by categories I have in Outlook?

Currently only the MobileMe accounts can sync contact groups with the native Contacts app. I believe there are some third part contact apps that can sync with Outlook, but am not personally familiar with them.

I'm hopping iOS 5 does a better job. Have to wait and see.
