Importing documents from PC to ipad

Hi people,

This might be a stupid question, but as I just bought my ipad 2 days ago and its my first apple product, I am stil getting used to it.

My problem is, I installed icloud on my PC, but cannot figure out, how to import PDFs or other documents. Is there any other possibility than icloud?

I use Dropbox for importing any documents, it's free and really easy to use with integration into most useful apps.
