Inadvertent update to ios15 causing problems

My mums ipad 6th gen updated from ios14 to ios15 3 days ago and now when she tries to send a photo by email from Photos, the Photos app just hangs with the Draft email as a "Loading..." message. Sending via FB messenger works fine. This is only since the update, note. Anyone else experienced this?

Mum is 86 and tends to obey instructions about updates which was (unfortunately) set to automatic.

Sounds like her Photo settngs may be set to optimize, and the internet connection slow or not existant.

When Photos are set to optimize, most of the photos will only show previews, with the full version needing to download. The older the photo, the more likely the iPad will need to download the full version be fore it can be emailed.

Also, if you haven’t doen so in a while, turn the ipad off then on again. Lots of glitches can be cleared up this way.
