Just downloaded the latest update and everything is sweet. Phew! I always hold my breath when updating, whether it be PC or IOS, still there's a first time for everything. Thank you this time Apple, stress free!

Upgraded to IOS 7.0.4 and it has not solved my problem with 'Cannot Contact App Store' message I received since first going up to 7.0.? on my iPad3. Waiting for fix before upgrading iPad2 IOS 6.1.3.

That is nothing to do with the upgrade I suggest going to another location with wifi and try again and also try going to preferences and reset network settings.finally take the iPad to an apple store or equivalent and let advise issue

This should fix it, if the good advice you got from col.bris doesn't:
Go to App Store - Featured, scroll down to your Apple ID and sign out. Then sign in again with your Apple ID. Reset your device: press and hold Home and Power button at the same time until the Apple logo appears, then release both and let the iPad start on your own.

As col.bris told you, your popup has nothing to do with the update/s.
