Ipad 1 vs Ipad2 size

I want to get a new cover for someone that has an original ipad. Does anyone know if the covers for the newer ipads will fit.
Are they the same size?

The iPad 1 is thicker than the others. What kind of cover are you think of? I have a silicone one that fits on the back quite snugly and a screen protector. Then I slip it into a zippered case.
When shopping make sure you read that it fits the iPad 1.
