Ipad 2 16gig

I have a 16 gig wifi ipad2, but when i go to settings/general/about option it says that i only have 14gig capacity which is very confusing. That 2 gig could have a lot of files to be stored such as music and document files.

Try this

1. Tap on “Settings”
2. Tap on “General”
3. Tap on “Usage”

Some applications use a lot of space, Spotify for example.

In addition to the OS, formatting of storage takes up space. You'll find the same convention on storage media. The convention has long been to describe capacity in an unformatted state. Not especially informative but it's been that way for many years.

Happens with every type of storage media. I recently bought an Xbox 360 HDD that was 320G but in all actuallity I got 276G.
