Hi can anyone tell me, how i get wifi using my phone onto my ipad 2?

Hi Jack - welcome to the forum! You did not tell us what phone & carrier you use, but if possible on your device, you'll need to setup the phone as a 'Wi-Fi Hotspot' (also known as tethering) - check HERE for more details; now, your cellular carrier will likely charge extra for this feature (my phone does not have that option, so not sure if any come 'free' w/ a data plan?).
