Ipad 2 with usb hub

Hello

I have an ipad 2 that I updated to 9.3.5 recently. I use a powered usb hub connected with a camera connection kit. The problem is when I try and connect it the ipad gives an error message say the usb requires to much power. I thought that if the hub is plugged into an outlet it would bypass try to use the ipad for power. I bought a different hub and i'm still having the same issues. Any ideas? Thank you.

Edit: It did workt before the update.
