ipad 3 photo/album deleting issues

I am new to these forums but I downloaded the user manual for my new ipad 3 and tried to understand how to delete duplicate albums from the album file. I was able to make new albums or should I say, rearrange and rename some of the albums but couldn't figure out how to delete the old albums. Does anyone have any good ideas?

If the album was "created" through sync'ing through iTunes in the Laptop or Desktop, then it is impossible for you to delete the album from the iPad.
But if it was created through the iPad, just press the "Edit" button from the top right corner and press the "X" (close) button to delete the said album.
