Ipad 3 stopped making Clicking noises ...

Do you mean clicking noises for the keyboard? If so, there are a couple of things to check. Yes, I know you said you checked "the obvious" but you didn't tell us what the obvious were. So, you get the whole list to check. :)

(1) Check to make sure you don't have the iPad muted. Depending on how you have it set up, you can either move other switch on the side or do the four-finger swipe up to reveal the multitask bar. Then, a swipe to the right (to reveal the control panel from the left) will bring up volume controls. Regardless, you are looking for the unmute symbol.

(2) Or, if it's just the keyboard missing the clicks, you may have turned them off in Settings? To check, go to your Settings app and press on the "Sounds" line. At the bottom of the right sound should be a line titled "Keyboard Clicks." Make sure it is ON.

Hopefully, one of those will do it for you. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

My iPad 3 has stopped making its clicking noises ... I've tried the obvious - nothing works ... Please HELP !!

G'day Ginababe. I'm new to this very enjoyable little machine and on a low rung of its learning curve but will try to help. If the following does not help I'm sure the many talented people on this forum can fix things. Holding your iPad in landscape ( horizontal ) mode you will see a sound toggle button at the top left hand side. Check that, is it in a low sound position so you can hear nothing? Move it to full sound. If that does not work go back to the Settings app, tap General - Sounds. Is the "sounds" slide on. I hope this may help. Welcome to the forum!

Wow Marilyn, I think you beat me by minutes. But good, I've picked up a couple of extra tips myself, mainly on the swiping side of things and the "keyboard clicks".
Cheers, Andrew

Mine has quit doing clicks when using the keyboard too, and I have checked the obvious as detailed LOL

Anyone got any other ideas?

Also guys some applications have volume and others do not ... I'm just stumped !!

Is your iPad still under warranty? If so might be worth a visit to the Apple store.

By the way, my keyboard is clicking again, weird..........
