IPad does not recognize or work with Logitech Pure-Fi Express

Got my 6' cable today from CableJive...only to find that the iPad won't recognize my Logitech Pure-Fi speakers. I had hoped to both play and charge my iPad with these nice speakers...but apparently the 30 pin Jack is blocked on the hardware side of the iPad. Too bad...but FYI!
