Ipad Magazine (Adobe DPS) / Portfolio Presentation Apps

here are some questions for you guys and girls,

Are there any similar apps that can do something like Adobe DPS, but without the high costs... we tried making magazines for the iPad with adobe and it works great, but since the official release we can't sideload any portfolio's anymore... we really liked the horizontal and vertical scrolling ability! It's not a problem if we have to work with indesign, we have the latest version... but we don't want to have additional costs like subscriptions and so on...

We'd like to make presentations on an iPad, but with our own look and layout, not being restricted to buttons other people have thought up for us.

I've read about a few in TUAW, Macworld, and Appadvice articles, but can't remember any of the names. Searching those sites for magazine publishing might turn up something.

In the meantime, does anybody know software like woodwind and adobe publisher in indesign?
