iPad Mail Limit

Morning all

I am sure that this has been asked before for which I apologise but my search let to nought.

My iPad (2) is currently only showing emails for about 28 days. Within my the Mail settings I have set it to receive 'No Limit' on the number of days to sync and to show the 1,000 most recent messages.

With those parameters I am at a loss as to why it's cutting off at 28 days (this is only for incoming Mail - sent items goes back forever)

Many thanks

Dryden

Hi, Dryden! Welcome to iPF!

This sounds like you use a Hotmail/Outlook/Windows Live account with iOS 6, because the limit of emails was removed with iOS 7. :-)

I see that you did everything possible to show more emails than just the ones for the last 28 days. What you could try first, are the usual troubleshooting steps:
Restart your iPad: turn it off, wait for a few minutes and turn it on again.
Reset it: press and hold Home and Power buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears, release both and let your iPad power up.
Force close the app: double tap the Home button to reveal the multitask bar. Tap and hold an app icon there until they start to wiggle, delete apps in the multitask bar. That's the procedure for iOS 6.

If this doesn't help, maybe deleting and reinstalling the account will solve the problem.

Has som thing changed in ios8 I can no longer select how many emails to keep? It seems to have defaulted to about 50 which is no use to me in remote area work where I need to keep the info on hand

The selection is still the same, there's also no default setting in Outlook. Which account do you use?

I'm with bigpond, an Aussie ISP it's worked great right up until I updated to 8, my menu no longer has an email limit setting at all
