Ipad mount for tripod anyone, need one for photography

hotstuff

iPF Noob
Have been searching for a solution 2 weeks on now, I need to finish this slr studio and the producer asked me to find a tripod to hold the iPad incase we need to monitor the camera or even use it to take foots ;)

I know IK multimedia sells this IKlip but this thing stays fixed on a mic or tripod, you need to UN screw and re screw the mount back on, not helpful if you need to move it from standard to landscape mode, then I found this iShot for iPad moderated - no external links! . But I'm in Europe and the shipping is the same price!

Anyway if some here knows a better product for the job please to share, had no luck on slr forums

Cheers

Use industrial strength Velcro. Mount one mate on iPad the other on the flat plate on head of tripod. It will do what you want. Stll allow you to store iPad in a case and use the tripod with camera mounted. Just cut small hole in Velcro to allow mounting screw to come thru to camera. This is a very solid mounting. Quick and clean.

I just did a search on here for "tripod" and came up with a number of threads that may help......I suggest you do the same (I'm on the app at the moment so can't copy links to these).

Have that alleyway, problem is a plate will block one camera, and it's nice to have the camera available to record the session as well

That ishot for iPad stand seems to work for pro photographers but they are milking it on the shipping side, they refuse to ship any other way then fed ex express which costs too much and gets to Europe no faster then fed ex reg, insured that is., another guy on a slr forum said he emailed the company and they pretended shipping to Europe included the VAT, which is a lie, because you only have to pay VAT tax on items over $250 dollars and in some countries $200 or even no VAT.

I found tons of silly little tripods like the ones in camera shop displays that just sit there on a desk, not a single one can mount on a normal camera tripod like a vanguard with levelers and ballhead grips,

The IKlip needs to screw on a pole of a camera or microphone stand, which is useless since a dedicated stand for it will cost way more then the ishot which is the right camera type of tripod but is unjustly over priced with shipping, I have to wait for a relative to receive and re send it to me from Virginia if I want this.

Have you looked at Adjustable Padholdr Floor Stand for your iPad, it's one of this forums sponsors I've been told. Also google the iprop.

we have already been using industrial velcro to mount the ipad to walls near computers, sides of desks, car dashboardss for the tomtom app or to navigate the net via 3g etc etc etc etc

but the velcro method will not work when it comes to mounting on a professional camera tripod with levelers, but... then again maybe we can get creative, im about to try and place the Velcro on a plate that mounts, but its limited to one side, the back, but maybe i can mount it above a bit so the camera is exposed, this will not allow our hot almost porn like models to see themselves in action though, or our gang of photographers to monitor the positions, which will defeat the purpose of the whole idea with mounting a ipad 2 ona tripod to capture or monitor cannon SLR photo/video shoots.

i may take the dive and order the iShot for ipad mount, pay the 49 bucks and 39 bucks for shipping, ill double check to see if you need to screw things with it like the iKlip, hopefully it snaps on like a camera adapter.
If it works all we need after this is lots of towels :P its why they call me hot stuff :)

I want the ishot but the shipping to Europe is about the same price of the ishot itself, I'm getting a tripod along with a mount for nearly the price, too bad

Glad you found the right solution....hopefully it works out for you.
Too bad the iShot mount doesn't have products in Europe. Have you tried contacting them about this? I don't know though, alot of products patented in the united states tend to have a higher price tag from the US to international locations because of the shipping prices and their patent protection. I would assume the iShot mount would do very well in Europe! They are definitely shaking ground here in the US. I see their ads everywhere!

Maybe I should try to contact them, but about what, the shipping?
I already ordered the tripod, glad I asked here, was debating on designing my own out of tin cans

I was just thinking you should contact them about who has their products in Europe. That way shipping is cheaper for you, right?
Shipping is a real touchy subject when purchasing online products for buyers and sellers. (I know first hand, I sold on ebay for years way back when)
I would assume both have a real hard time meeting in the middle over shipping now-a-days because of rising prices everywhere and on everything.

Really depends on what you want to get out of the product.
Most will pay the extra shipping charges if the product includes what they're looking for!

Try to look for things like:
Does the tripod mount fully function with your case or protection...Are you forced to take off your pretty little silicone case every time you want to film?
Is it light-weight and portable?
Does it attach to any tripod or just some?
Does it have versatility, meaning getting more than one use out of it?
Does it work both Portrait and Landscape orientations?
Is is bulky and hard to stow away?
How simple is it to operate?

Tell you one thing, iShot® Mounts has all of the above covered and MORE! :D
