iPad name won't change

Twice I've changed the name of my iPad on the iTunes window, left-hand side margin, 'Devices' section.

But now, I can't get rid of the old name for 'Purchased on <name>' in both the 'Devices' and 'Store' sections.

I've purchased new songs since my last name change, but the old name won't go away even though I see it on both the iTunes Summary page and in the Devices section next to the little iPad icon.

Any suggestions?
