ipad newbie Apple ID how to?

Helllo, I have an ipad and it's first one I have had. I have no idea how to create the apple id. I tried filling out the form that had questions regarding security and bank details and could not get further than the bank page. It kept saying please try again later. I have no idea what I wrong. Any help would be very very very very much appeciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

Setting up your new Apple ID can be done in settings when setting up your iPad. It can also be set up in the App Store or the iTunes Store on your iPad as well as on your computer. How to create a new Apple ID

You need an email address for your Apple ID.

It’s possible to set up an Apple ID without payment method:

If you want, you can get an email address that’s used solely for your Apple ID and nothing else.

That’s simplifies things, but isn’t totally necessary. Just means you have to remember two email and password combos instead of one when dealing with things Apple; and keep in mind when to use each.
