iPad2 screen mirroring

Hello,
I have an iPad2, ver 5.0.1 and I need to use it for presentations.
So I bought a VGA adaptor cable from dealextreem but it doesn't work.
It does shows videos but not the iPad screen itself.

I appreatiate any help I can get.

This article says that app will mirror by default, but if they are designed to output video this will over ride the mirroring function. It gives a list of Apple app that do not mirror, and notes that some third party apps will also override mirroring.

Forget all that wired stuff. If you can afford it, I recommend buying AppleTV version 2 with software updated to version 4.4.3. I also have an hdmi projector which plugs directly into the AppleTV. You need to ensure that the ATV2 and ipad connect to the same wireless network. Now my ipad2(iOS 5.1) is completely wireless. The only way to go!
