Is AppleCare Worth It?

It's a value proposition, like anything. To some its a good investment. To others, it's a waste of money. I never was much for extended warranties and my attitude doesn't change here. I already pay a hefty premium for apple hardware and just don't feel the need to tack on another couple hundred bucks to an already pricey item. The hardware is well made and reliable, IMO. I'm just really careful

The warrenties are not a couple of hundred, for the computer it extends it to three years. Totally worth, no other costs. Being careful is fine, but #$(*&$ happens.

My opinion was based solely on portable equipment like iphones and ipads. It's only $99 for Applecare for those. Not sure about imac though.
