Is there a better email app?

I have a Gmail and a ATT (Yahoo mail) email account. I have these both configured in the iPad mail app. Gmail seems to work fine, however, the ATT email is a bear. When I was using IOS6 I could delete email on the iPad, but it still remained on the server. Just frustrating trying to jockey what gets deleted and what doesn't.

And if I delete something on the iPad, it doesn't show up in the deleted mail on my iMac. And it seems there is no way to shut off or delete sent mail.

Any suggestions? Thanks.
