I am in the process of choosing a pad for my personal use by the end of the year and am looking over my options. The iPad certainly seems to be the most popular, but I have some reservations of its download capabilities and ease of loading programs on it, which is why how I found this forum.

I already made a help request post in converting a website with relative links to be used in an app. That will probably be the key to my decision, along with how difficult it might be to get those apps on other pads. It is a new key element to my full time job.

I am primarily a website builder and social media specialist who has a client that wanted a interactive non linear presentation (essentially a portable website that operates on the pad's system independent of an Internet connection). So, now I am learning much more about the pads then I expected.

Overall, I was impressed with how people responded on this forum and therefor chose to join. I hope I can contribute back as well.

Thanks,
Bill

As a suggestion, download iTunes on a computer. You can browse the App Store and get a better idea of what kind of apps are available. You don't need an account to look.

Downloading the apps on the iPad is easy. The App Store is built in. You can use iTunes for downloads and syncing from the computer, but it is not necessary; especially if you don't use it to start with.

Welcome to the forum.
