I just bought an iPAD several days ago and everything was fine until today.

When I get to Google and click inside the search field, the keyboard does not
appear so of course I cannot type anything in.

The keyboard does appear when I select the http field.

How do I get the keyboad visible

Thanks in advance! so I can search in Google etc.?

Um they were talking about the on-screen keyboard, bluetooth has nothing at all to do with that!

it worked fine a couple of days ago.

Best - and usually the easiest - way to 'cure' a whole load of iPad 'problems' is to 'restart' the iPad. Press *and hold* the Power button until the screen changes and you're offered the option to shut the iPad down (you have to activate the usual slider control). If you accept this, you get a rotating 'bezel' on the screen for a few seconds as the iPad switches off. Once the screen has gone completely blank, hold the Power switch down again for a few seconds until the Apple logo appears (note that, while the iPad is powering up, the automatic screen orientation doesn't work). It takes about 10 seconds for the iPad to power up, about 2/3 the way through this process it makes a sound (can't think how to describe that sound!) and then, a second or two later, the normal iPad Home screen appears.

Several Forum members have recommended doing this at least once a week (it's really just switching your iPad completely off). It seems to cure a whole raft of 'curious behaviour' - such as the on-screen keyboard not appearing. Hope this helps.

Actually even Apple recommends restarting the iPad regularly.

Last time I was at the Apple Store, their "Behaviour Scan" software detected that a few apps had crashed due to not enough memory and the listed solution was to explain to the costumer how to restarted their iPad, as well as that this should be done regularly.
