Keyboard problems

Hi folks I do hope I have posted in the right section, I am a new member, I have a problem with the pop up keyboard on my ipad 4 , I noticed yesterday the keyboard had appeared to have moved up the screen about an inch higher than where it has been ever since it bought it 6months ago, today it's moved higher again , so it's covering the text as I am typing, I can't see anything in settings that would help me, I suppose I may have to take it back to the seller, just thought someone may be able to help me solve the problem before I take it back.
