Keynote import restrictions?

I have been trying import an existing Mac Keynote file into my iPad with no luck. The file is quite large (130 slides) and is composed almost exclusively of pictures. It has a handful of builds (which I know get "flattened") and uses only a few transitions. When I load the file, it shows the progress indicator until about 3/4, at which time the Keynote app terminates.

Any suggestions?
