lack of amplified sound when i pad connects to docking station/speaker

At first i thought it was a faulty docking/speaker system as it all used to work fine.. but now with replacement iluv docking/speaker system we have same problems. All sounds work fine until one plugs it into the docking system when suddenly the sound goes and although it charges no sounds come through speakers.


have re booted i pad several times, have adjusted mute switch on side of i pad. on reading other tips, i see it coudl be one of the apps which the children have recently downloaded causing the problem but who knows which one

any ideas please
