What's new

Latest IOS and jailbreak

Hi hope you can see the images ive uploaded as not put images on here before.
1st image is the zip I downloaded
2nd is the files inside the zip
3rd is the folder I made to unzip to
4th is extracting files to the folder I made all good so far
5th is the same as 4th just further along the extracting process
6th is the error that comes up with 5 files / folders at the very end of extraction with only 5% left to go, I clicked yes for all 5 files

after extraction its the exact same files that's in the zip folder that's in the unzipped folder ?

am I doing something wrong ? no sign of ipsw file ?

Just remove the .zip part, and put in .ipsw instead.
I suppose you used Internet Explorer to download the file. With a different browser (Chrome or Firefox), you don't have to rename the file, because it gets the right ending.

Ok followed a youtube video which said I had to go to folder otions, view and untick - Hide extensions for known file types - Then rename .ipsw as you have said above so that that done.

Time to back up and go from 8.3 - 9.0.2 using the shift key and the file downloaded (with internet explorer ) , god im scared , hope this works out ok as never ever done this before, usually just update to latest firmware and grab the jb when I can.

Thanks J.A. your a star, really appreciate all the hard work and help you guys offer.

Fingers crossed :-)

I for got to take my pics n videos off ipad before doing it but I did do a back up, if I run back up will it give me them back ?
If so do I do this after jailbreak or before (run the back )

Could I have a quick reply on this 1 please, sitting waiting, soooo sorry.

The backup will contain your photos and videos. Just set up your iPad from the backup after the restore and it should be set up just as it was when you made the backup.

If you're using iCloud PhotoStream or Photo Library, the photos and videos are stored there, not in your backup - neither an iCloud backup nor an iTunes backup.

Looks like iOS 9.0.2 has installed, I am restoring my back up now to hopefully get my pics n videos back then I will jail break , if I don't get my photos and pics back I guess there's nothing I can do :-(

Usually I remeber to grab the vids n pics first and then set up as new iPad, woops.
