Howcast is funny and clever, and may even teach something practical Skygrid is my favorite news aggregator.

I use a combo of the PandoraBox app for apps that become free for a limited time. I also check freeappaday.com for paid apps that are free for a day.

The App Shopper website isn't loading for me, so I'll check that out later, but hope it becomes another good source for free apps!

I like Fotopedia, Jamie's Recipe's and just tried the recommendation for little step's to see if it's something I can use with my kids.

First of all,my all time favorite free app is "Flipboard"
Then I got "Death Worm", "Zombie War HD" and "Airport challenge madness" free by the help of "AppShopper" and "Appstream"(an app from appsfire) which must have to get your hand on real "gems" as great "Numlock" said.

Other great ones are:
-Heywire( send an receive free SMS to anyone in any country or continent)
-Twitter
-Tweetdeck
-IM+
-Plaintext( my fav text editor)
- Notebook(awesome handwriting and typing note taking app)
- Dropbox
- Stanza( almost better than iBook and support direct iTunes file sharing)
- Download manager pro HD(lite) to download anything
- USB disk( a basic storage app that I use to shift stuff from other apps and mostly from download manager pro hd lite when I have reached the free download limit of 10 files and empty it to download some more stuff. It supports iTunes direct file sharing so no painful eternal backup)

- VLC(awesome video player)
- Talking Tom( a nice little cat that repeat whatever you say in it's own funny voice)

What else? I'll list some more when appshopper or app stream give me some more.

Thanks and happy new year!!

I use AppMiner to locate great deals on free apps, found this on the app store and it has really proven to be great. Example, I found the game mirror's Edge for free and now see it would cost you $9.99

-neu.annotate PDF is a free PDF annotation app. I just discovered it. I already had bought Noterize and Goodreader, and I do end up preferring Noterize, but this this free one is pretty darn good too.
-neu.notes (same developer) is another good note-taking program
-of course, Kindle
-'txtr
-Springpad
-Evernote
-Dragon Dictation
