I asked at the places where I went and nothing. It is not a cellular model, and is password protected, so hope it is of no use to anyone. If you have Find My turned on you can use that app on your iPhone to do a few things, including disabling the iPad. If it is not a cellular model, it will need to connect to the internet before being disabled. That means getting near a wi-fi network that it recognizes, or the finder somehow gaining access and joining a network.
If you don't have an iPhone or other iOS/iPadOS device, you can use the Find My controls at icloud.com.
