I seem to have lost mi ipad mini. I was going to town andhonestly think it fell out of the car somewhere. Is there anyway I can remotely make sure it is locked so no one can use it, it is password protected,

If you have Find My turned on you can use that app on your iPhone to do a few things, including disabling the iPad. If it is not a cellular model, it will need to connect to the internet before being disabled. That means getting near a wi-fi network that it recognizes, or the finder somehow gaining access and joining a network.

If you don't have an iPhone or other iOS/iPadOS device, you can use the Find My controls at icloud.com.

I asked at the places where I went and nothing. It is not a cellular model, and is password protected, so hope it is of no use to anyone.

While your data is protected, the iPad can be connected to iTunes on a computer and restored. This will erase everything on the iPad, keeping anyone from accessing the data.
If Find My is activated the person who has it can’t erase or use it and you’ll get an alert whenever it’s turned on and connected to the internet.
