Microphone on ipad2 crackles!!

When i tried Facetime the microphone at the other end was just static? Has anyone got any idea as to what is wrong? The mute button works though.
I bought a headset and it has solved the problem it bypasses the in-built microphone.

Hi there,

Are you saying you had difficulty hearing the person using FaceTime? Make sure that both of you are close to your iPads when you speak and ensure that the Mic is clear of obstruction. Both may help you.
