Mini mac and ipad compatability

This may be a totally daft question, but if I buy a mini mac, will it be able to use the iPad screen via Bluetooth? ie. can I use the mini mac with an apple Bluetooth keyboard, and use the screen of the iPad instead of a monitor?

Not directly, at least not to set things up, and not bluetooth (way too slow). You will still need a real monitor to do that.

There is an app that lets you use the iPad as a second monitor. Hold in mind that it will in no way match the performance of a real monitor. It connects via the wi-fi network, so it will be extremely slow to update, compared to a hardwire monitor. I believe a companion app needs to be loaded and set up on the Mac Mini first (which is why you will need a real monitor to at least set up, and to trouble shoot of something goes wrong).

I have not used the app myself. I might consider using it to administer a Mac Mini if it were being used as some kind of server that only needed to be updated or tweaked occasionally. Be sure to read the compatibility notes and do your research if you decide to do this. And let us know how well it works, if it does.
