twerppoet iPad Fan Dec 24, 2011 #2 Easily. Go to Settings > Notifications and find the Mail app. Select it and turn on Badges. I'm assuming your new iPad 2 came with iOS 5. If not I may have trouble helping, since I can't remember if it was even possible to turn off Badges with 4.x. Last edited: Dec 24, 2011
