Multi page icon in Safari missing

Hi all.

I have been reading a number of tutorials in the use of the iPad, including the use/features of Safari and constantly I am pointed to the multi page icon (3rd from the left), or so I am told.

However, I do not have this icon displayed in my browser. All the other icons that are supposed to be there are shown.

So why do I not have it, is there a setting that I need to click?

Any advice please.

I think your tutorials must be old, the multi page icon was removed in iOS 5 in favour of using tabs instead.

I think you are right. I did some more reading and came to the same conclusion. :-(
