Music and photos not syncing to ipad2 after the ios 5 upgrade

I upgraded my ipad2 to iOS 5. According to iTunes, my music and photos are synced to my iPad 2; however, they do not appear in my iPad 2. I have tried restarting everything and re-syncing, but nothing has worked. Any ideas? Is this something that will correct itself if I wait a few days and try to sync again? Any advice would be appreciated!
