I turned on my IPad3 today and noticed that all my notes were gone. I had never synced them with Icloud or Gmail. I have never plugged it to ITunes either. So they seriously just vanished. Has anyone had an experience of this type? And has any one an idea how I would be able to find them? Thank you so much in advance for your help.

Whenever the iPad starts to act a bit "funny" for no apparent reason, the following action may get it to shape up and fly right.
Simultaneously hold down the On/Off button and the Home button until the screen turns black. Keep holding patiently until the white Apple logo appears. Let go the buttons and wait, looking at that piece of fruit. Then slide the On button that will appear.

This should tidy up your iPad's memory. Let us know how you went.

Sorry I can't help with your missing notes :(

If you keep lots of notes the best app to use is Evernote.
It's free and saves your notes in the cloud so you can access them from any device if you have the password.

I run it on four machines and it just updates in the background. Can't recommend it highly enough.

No luck on the restart. Where the hell did they go? This is quite frustrating. Thank you so much for your response.

Hi Anna, try this now. Settings>General>Reset and then tap "Reset all Settings". This resets all preferences and settings but you still retain facilities such as contacts, calendars and your media such as songs and videos. Any good?

The native notes app sometimes eats notes. They just disappear. That happened to me once, luckily with something unimportant. And I've read about it happening to other users. That's why I don't trust it and use Evernote.
