What's new

My Rock Music

Wow Ivy...looks like you have a lot of ideas for your Rock Playlist. Will this be for something special? Maybe for when you go out on your antiquing? :)

The Immigrant Song
Wish You Were Here
The Boys are Back in Town
Hush
Doctor Doctor
Mr. Crowley
Running With the Pack
Top Jimmy
All Along the Watch Tower (Jimi's version)
Too Old to Rock n Roll, Too Young to Die
Detroit Rock City
More Than a Feeling
Anything by Iron Maiden
Fade to Black
Hysteria
Stranglehold
25 or 6 to 4
Ride Captain Ride
Fool for the City
Barracuda
Roundabout
Red Barchetta
Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)
School
Highway Song
And many many more

Nice list. Withe the app mentioned, I find other interesting discoveries.
For "Too Old to Rock n Roll, Too Young to Die" I find quite a variety, but it seems to be missing the main thing. I am having trouble remembering the group who did this one.

Searching "doctor doctor" was real fun, triped over childhood fun one, "the witch doctor", plus Tetris theme song, and 3 doctor who themes, plus many more new to me.

Woohoo--that would be a blast!!

Count us all in, but I need my lyrics...otherwise I would fail!!

Oh, dear. I don't think Ski has any idea what she has let herself in for. Here's your lyrics, Ski. You get a pint of beer if you make it all the way through. (Honest!)

Stargazer

High noon
Oh I'd sell my soul for water
Nine years' worth
Of breakin' my back
There's no sun in the shadow of the wizard
See how he glides
Why he's lighter than air
Oh I see his face

Where is your star
Is it far, is it far, is it far
When do we leave
I believe, yes, I believe

* in the heat and the rain
With whips and chains
Just to see him fly
So many die

We built a tower of stone
With out flesh and bone
Just to see him fly
Don't know why
Now where do we go

Hot wind moving fast across the desert
We feel that our time has arrived
The world spins while we put his wing together
A tower of stone to take him straight to the sky
Oh I see his face

Where is your star
It is far, is it far, is it far
When do we leave, yeah
I believe, I believe

*

All eyes see the figure of the wizard
As he climbs to the top of the world
No sound as he falls instead of rising
Time standing still
Then there's blood on the sand
Oh I see his face

Where was your star
Was it far, was it far
When did we leave
We believe, we believe, we believe

In the heat and rain
With whips and chains
To see him fly
So many die
We built a tower of stone
With out flesh and bone
To see him fly
But why, it don't rain
With all our chains,
Did so many die
Just to see him fly
Look at my flesh and bone
Now look, look, look, look
Look at this tower of stone
I see a rainbow rising
Look there on the horizon
And I'm coming home
Coming home, I'm coming home

Time is standing still
He gave me back my will
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Going home
I'm going home
My eyes are bleeding
And my heart is weeping
We still hope, we still hope, oh
Take me back
He gave me back my will
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Going home
I'm going home
My eyes are bleeding
And my heart is weeping
We still hope, we still hope, oh

Take me back, take me back
Back to my home, oh, oh...
This is karaoke, heavy rock style. Good luck.

Too old... Was/is Jethro Tull

Doctor Doctor is the UFO lineup with Michael Schenker and Phil Moog, it is on two albums I know of, Phenomenon and a live album Strangers in the Night.

The Witch Doctor I'm thinking about is an old one from back in the 50s maybe, it is a fun song :)

Witch Doctor was roughly contemporaneous to Beep Beep, Yellow Polka-dot Bikini, Monster Mash, and Purple People Eater. Sometime around 1957?
