I have just started up my own Navigon (North America) on an iPad 2 and it appears to be running well. I'm sorry that you are having trouble but it may have to do with the version that you are running. I would write the developers explaining the problem in detail.

Try deleting it and reinstalling, just had to do that with the new facebook app to get it to work.
