Omgoodness... This is the first forum I have ever joined... So You may need to bare with me... :)

I am a dizzy professional woman... Good at my job, but completely disorganised... I purchased the iPad 2 to try and help bring some order to my life... This is the first piece of technology I have personally owned... Have had a bog standard works laptop... Which we are not allowed to download anything onto... And a pretty standard blackberry... Again work issued.... Whilst the husband has always had an iPod and an iPhone... But I am determined to find out how this will help me going forward and want to problem solve myself... Hence me joining this site...

I have some good work tools apps which I have started to use such as 'Action Notes' which is fab to use, but this has no calendar attached therefore I turned to the factory set calendar app and have encountered a problem...

There is no icon to allow me to place on an entry... In fact the only thing I can do is turn the pages... I have read a thread on here where there was a problem with the key board sticking and so I followed the advice to re-boot hoping that it may sort my issue out... But no joy... Any ideas would be much appreciated... Sooz x

Hi there and welcome.

I use SmartPad, it's a fantastic app for organising everything, calender, todo list, notes (with links) and much more. There is a similar app called Pocket Informant, I prefer SP mainly because of the linked notes and the user interface.

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

Remember, search is your friend.......and please don't forget to read the rules http://www.ipadforums.net/forum-rules-help-info/2119-forum-rules-everybody-please-read.html

These are the hacking section rules for all you jail breakers (and would be jail breakers) http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-hacking/2892-hacking-section-rules-please-read.html

We also have an app for this forum. The link to download the app is: Discussion Forum for iPad Users for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store

If you have other Apple products or are interested in other Apple kit then why not join our sister forum too at http://www.appleforums.net/

Finally, if you still haven't had enough, how about a video explaining about our other forums (note:you may want to play this at half speed but hey, why shouldn't Phil be excited about our forums!)

Hi Soozy, and welcome to the forums. In the stock Calendar app, presuming you have an iPad 2 running iOS 5 that is, if you click and hold on the day you wish to add an event to, the entry dialog will pop up allowing you to add the details. There is also a small button with a '+' on it at the bottom right of the screen which is for adding new events. Are you not seeing this button?

Welcome, from Cali!

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free.

JezzerP.... Thank you so much for your advice... I have an iPad 2... Bought in May and I went for the largest wifi one... Have not a clue what it's running but there is no plus button on the calendar to be able to add anything... I have just photographed the page if you need to see (but you may need to send me instructions ha! ha!)... I am baffled!!!!

Thanks Gabriele 1... Will check this ap out... I have been using Action Notes for meetings and it is brilliant - especially as you can e-mail the notes and action points and the format is fab... Just a pity it doesn't sync with a calendar... Will let you know how it goes... Sooz x

If you open the Settings app, click on General and then About, there will be a Version number for the iOS software your iPad is running.
